ahh well, i guess it couldnt last

@Nikkodemis My point is every recording throughout Terry Brown's tenure was produced and engineered VERY well. It was AFTER Broon's albums - stuff like Counterparts, etc... that were (comparitively) lame.
-
Fortunately, Moving Pictures was on my list of well-recorded albums. See? We can get along

@Nikkodemis Do you listen with an iPod or a hi fidelity system? By "under-recorded" are you referring to output levels? If so, you should know that the vast majority of top mastering engineers are fighting the commercial push to over-compress music in order to increase loudness. The reason is the compression RUINS the musical dynamics and makes it irritating. i.e.: Moving Pictures will stand the test of time, Vapor Trails (which was HORRIBLY recorded) probably won't.

Im not a fan of bantering back and forth in this format but every album except hemishpheres and moving pictures is under-recorded. Listen to almost any album of that time from another band back to back with most Rush albums and you cant help but notice. Im enjoying my 3rd-plus decade of listening to these guys and its not easy to say these things but its a fact. All 3 members themselves have mentioned it in interviews thru the years. So lets agree to disagree.

How about a special on Rush's "Permanent Waves"? That's a great record, too. And without that, there wouldn't have been a "Moving Pictures" album.
-
@Nikkodemis So what? ONE album done a bit differently, still had some great somgs on it.
-
really? just one word to say to that: Signals
-
@Nikkodemis you are clueless.
