Linda letra e bela melodia nesta canção que se tornaria um clássico da música popular napotitana.

A letra foi feita em homenagem a uma bela jovem que De Curtis conhecera em um Hotel em Sorrento, e que carregava um cesto com fruta, a quem brincando perguntou o que ela fazia, além de carregar aquela cesta.

A jovem respondeu alegre e com grande senso de humor que também dormia. E aí nasceu a música.

This composition was based in real fact, when G. De Curtis, during hostage in a Sorrento Hotel, met a beautiful girl that was loading a basket of fruit in his arms, and asked her:

"What do you do besides to load fruit?"
For his surprise, the girl replied with great smile and mood sense:
