  • If the control stick is tight, lubricate it. If it's loose, attempt to repair. Repair doesn't work perfectly? Get a replacement! Simple as that with repair possibly being the hardest...

  • @MarkNESStarFox Agreed. I decimated the first N64 controller I tried to repair. 8D

  • How are those Joysticks?

    Do they ever wear out?

How is the response time on those when trying to move with them?

Is it pretty smooth or does it hesitate?

  • @Firen137

    They never wear out.

Actually, slower than the originals, unfortunately. I haven't played any games where there's a noticeable lag, but I've heard more than a few people complain about the difficulty to run and drop through platforms in Super Smash Bros., and do the spin attack in Ocarina (by spinning the joystick). It's not impossible, but it'll take a little while to reprogram your muscle memory.

They are very smooth. Unlike with the original joysticks, where you have to...

  • ...focus more on pressing the joystick forward to run, with these you'll have to focus on holding it in the middle to move slowly rather than running all the time. This too is just a matter of muscle memory.

If your joysticks still work perfectly, I'd recommend just keeping those. But if your controllers are broken, these are worlds better than a loose joystick impossible to run with.

  • You put a link to a different joystick than the one you're using in the video.

  • @NoNameC68 It's the right link, the first picture is wrong though. Look at the other five customer pictures to see it. It's the exact page where I bought it, trust me.

  • Pretty sweet... but am i the only person in the world who never had their n64 or controllers break? I've had my n64 and controllers for about 12 years, and their in perfect condition, save a BARELY loose analog, and the 2nd controller port died. 0_0

  • Just replaced mine today, and the difference is day and night! Thumbs up for have Harvest Moon 64!

  • These sticks look and feel perfect. Unfortunately their sensitivity is tweaked WAY too high and it renders games like Goldeneye virtually unplayable.

  • @Goomba4001 I simply cannot pull of a quick spin in either Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask with these analog sticks. It's easy on my Makopad or original controllers.. which is depressing. It's all that stops these from being perfect.

They don't seem any slower than the originals to me though. I compared them and couldn't find any sort of delay.
