Ah, dude - if it's the 1.5TB Seagates, those are locking up for 30 second at a time and corrupting data in lots of uses. Google for "seagate 1.5 lockup" and you'll get tens of thousands of hits of people talking about that.

I think I'm missing something. I don't see a newer video or any chat here saying this was figured out.

There is nothing saying this was resolved, but this was posted before everyone had figured out that it was the drives specifically. I guess I should delete this video.
