http://fernleynews.com - Christmas is the time of year for joy, wonder and excitement for children.
300 children in the Fernley area are in need of toys this Christmas. That number is up from 100 last year.
Volunteers are sorting and packing and gathering toys galore.
City Hall's basement looks like Santa's workshop and the generosity of Fernley residents and businesses has been overwhelming.
As the toy pile grows with dolls and bikes and Barbies and Legos, so does the list of children who are in need this holiday season.
The last day to drop off a new toy donation is this Thursday, December 20th at City Hall, more toys are needed along supplies for babies and of course gifts for teenagers.
Special thanks and mention go out to:
Fernley Raceway, Amazon.com, Dennis Banks Construction, North Lyon County Fire Protection District, Lyon County Sheriff's and Moose's Bar, for their generous contributions to this years toy drive!
