MEP Daniel Hannan argues against "independent" MEP Edward McMillan Scott, and what to do with the Irish referendum problem, especially if the Irish vote for the creation of the EUSSR. The UK politicians renaged on their promises that the British will have a vote on the Lisbon Treaty, it's not a CONstitution because it got renamed a treaty. Politicians voting for the creation of the EUSSR is NOT democracy.

Recorded from BBC's Politics Show, 27 September 2009.

  • Daniel Hannan seems to be the only one left with any sense or integrity at all in the Conservative Party.

  • That's the second time I've seen a waste-of-space politician scramble blindly for a good argument to counter Daniel Hannan's, and, failing to find one, resort to downplaying his credibility on the basis of practically nothing. Watching it I just think - Hannan - 10, Opponent - 0.

  • @MrGilles1990 P.S. it's not just that I can't be bothered to change my money, it's that I have to pay a commission to the banks each time I do it. I accept though that this should not be an overriding reason above more important economical arguments which you may present me with. I have a background in science, not economics, so really I am only asking for your opinion, if you have the patience to enlighten me :)

  • @MrGilles1990 Indeed, that's why I don't deserve an opinion unless I were to research it further.

On this subject I am speaking purely from ignorance. National identity means little to me because I believe all nations and peoples are equal, and we'd be better uniting under 1 world, 1 people, as we were in the beginning. I would be interested to know from an economical perspective why Europe and the Euro would be bad, if you have the patience. I have no valid opinions, I am just asking :)

  • @strakha0 The Euro is in meltdown now lol

And giving up you national identity just because you cant be bothered to change your money is not a good reason.

  • @MrGilles1990 I never said that the UKIP or you dislike the French, only that much of their support comes from people who don't look into it any deeper than that. I would make myself clearer if I had more characters to work with, but my last 2 messages were at the very limit.

Right now if you were to ask me I would say yes to Europe and the Euro just because it would mean I wouldn't have to change my money when I go on holiday! That opinion shouldn't be weighted evenly either.

  • @strakha0 UKIP dont like the French that's funny because i am 1/2 French!

  • @MrGilles1990 Sorry, I thought you would understand that I meant that the BNP get much of their support from racists, and the UKIP from people who dislike the French.

If you have weighed up Europe on an informed economical basis and decided against it, then you are not representative of that. Any public vote on the Euro or Europe would be a no when you add up those who have legitimate views with those who have bigoted views.

My own views on Europe: I don't know enough about it to judge.

  • @strakha0 UKIP racist were is the evidence?

im mixed race and i like UKIP
