  • Your parents not give you enough attention when you were a child?

  • We are in an Oil war not a security war with the Taliban. It's not peace keeping which ysed to be the pride of Canadians. It's a waste of our nations youth, resources and money.

  • even if human caused global warming is true who gives a fuck, i dont want to spend a fortune in the hhopes it might slightly reverse, it is a minor threat and keeping wealth will help us deal with it in the future

  • Yeah, that stance on the environment worked pretty good for Stephane, dinnit it?

  • Well, finally we agree on something;)!

  • All PMs have to appease Quebec. They are the crybaby province. Harper has jumped just as many hurdles as Martin.

I don't think splitting the country is a good idea at all. However, I do offer the alternative of a no-party system. We should be living in a meritocracy, not a political race of attack ads and slander. All sides are guilty of that.

Our current system does safeguard against abuse of power and corruption, but the rabid partisanship is reducing the efficacy of our government.

  • You asked me for hypocrisy, I gave it to you.

What Harper did for Canada, isn't anything special. Paul Martin would've done the same, but he couldn't because he had to satisfy Quebec.

Really, what Canada needs is to split into two countries. One into Ontario/Quebec and the Maritimes. The other, The West with BC, the Prairies and the Territories. That's the best solution. Canada is an outdated concept.

    There's nothing left to debate.

  • And as for the 2008 election, pretty much my only bones with the coalition was that it was so close to the election date. If this coalition had been formed like 6 months to a year after the election, and Harper wasn't enjoying much support from the Canadian people, I would accept that fate.

But he had just been recently re-elected and it was quite clear that the Conservatives received the most votes from the Canadian people. Canadians don't like frequent, costly elections.

  • As I said before, I don't agree with some things he has done. And some (not all) of what you stated encompasses that. However, the good he has done in relation to the bad has been pretty solid.

I point to military spending after years and years of Liberal neglect. Reinforcing Arctic sovereignty and making sure the Northwest Passage stays Canadian, too.

The Liberals have been pretty quiet on those things and I feel they are pretty important. More so than worrying about a few trees.

  • He goes against the carbon tax or any "green" measures to curb CO2 gases, but at the G8 summit, he believes that Canada needs to do more. He said Canada would be fine and that we were not in a recession last Dec... oh wait, that's not hypocrisy, that's just being an idiot! LMAO! Should I continue?

  • Why are you Cons so negative? Why do you hate so much? Where is the LOVE?

Liberals rock! We are neither fully left or right, but on the centre.....leaning towards the right. But, honestly, we are the best damn party Canada has ever had.

Harper wanted the coalition back in 2006 to get rid of Martin. Then he cried it was unconstitutional when the tables were turned in 2008. He wanted Senate reform, and instead, he chooses all of his senates, stacking them with his "friends".
