Oxygene part IV, my take on on Jarre' s seminal instrumental track using just a Nord Wave, Novation Supernova II, Korg Radias, Stereo Small Stone Phaser and a Mini Pops 7 VST emulation - Tiny Pops for the Percussion track. You can download the demo here - http://www.superwavesynths.co.uk/product_tinypops.htm

No other additional effects were used.

While remaining pretty faithful to the original I have started the track off in a slightly different way, one that I'm sure Jean Michel himself would approve of :)

Hope you like it!

  • Hi Fred, that was just some Eminent 310U string samples on the Nord Wave going thru a Small stone phaser :)

  • @GJmusique I know, but it's widely reported Jarre used one original Small Stone, which is mono, that's why the delay is panned the way it is, he recreates stereo at that point in the chain.

  • @markscudder

The back of the eminent has a stereo output :P

  • Not sure if you know, but the reason Jarre's string sound was stereo because he ran into a mono Small Stone, then split the signal... dry goes to the left, and on the right side, he inserted a delay set to 100% wet and about 300ms.

  • emulations are hard , and you have mostly nailed it. Great work, very enjoyable track.

  • coole sounds! but the lead synth is somehow to fast and head, like a pre-lag, not that relaxed as in the original.

  • nice job on that - what was making the strings?

  • Excellent - glad you love the Radias, I have it too and really enjoy using it.

  • Nice one :) Some errors in the main sequence (gives a different "color" to the whole thing), but it's a very good cover.

I do have the Superwave TinyPops VST too, it's an awesome one ;)

  • Nice. Like the tinypops. Will have to get that
