@KaleKatsura Agreed - because of the non-canonicity of the first film, a lot of stuff doesn't line up, like the weapons and devices we never saw before, etc., plus the fact that Angel Grove looked a lot like Sydney, Australia (because they filmed it there, after all).

@rchp4life3 There was more money to be made, yo - thus they had to create some more villains. After all, Zedd and Rita were first and foremost looking out for themselves and their own interests, and so one can assume the producers were, too.

@spidermansidekick1 Well, Rita came back (sort of) as Mystic Mother, and then the offspring of Rita and Zedd, Thrax, appeared in "Once a Ranger" using the Z-staff.
