  • another byrds classic. love the guitar, as usual in this tune.

  • This is one of my all time fav Byrds songs.

I think it is really interesting to not hear that trademark 12 string richenbackser jingle jangle sound though.

Although I guess the jingle jangle sound wouldnt really of suted this song.

  • I saw Hillman at McCabe's in Santa Monica a few years ago. Someone shouted out for this song. Chris looked around at the other three members of his band none of whom knew how to play the song, so he played it solo. It was the hit of the night.

  • lovely song by hillman one of their best

  • original sound of everytime, none can match with the byrds the best group of all time

  • @genericgeorge Lucy In The Sky was recorded March 1, this was released May 22. Sgt. Pepper was released June 1. Don't think John would have heard this before Lucy was recorded. Great song.

  • @NormanStansfield1 I agree the Byrds sound totally original. Influenced by the Beatles, but not trying to copy that Brithish invasion stuff. I think the Byrds lost so much when Gene Clark left the band.

  • This is all Chris Hillman, his song and singing. One of the best from The Byrds. So many American groups did lousy music as an answer to the British Invasion. This is awesome. It is not a Mersey Beat ripoff but something different. So much better than the Eagles crap. It is a shame that Chris was so young & less assertive because he had loads of talent. About the only thing Crosby could do was harmonize. They should have done a lot more Hillman material. Outstanding song.

  • ♥ I love♥

  • Meaning this song came out first

  • Maybe I'm weird but I can hear Lucy In The Sky in this. It came out just prior. I'm thinking Lennon would have heard this and maybe was influenced. He wrote that song under pressure. Could have been at least part inspiration for a classic Beatle masterpiece

  • reminds me of twist and shout!
