1967 Allen Herschell Sky Wheel On Ride Experience

1967 Allen Herschell built Sky Wheel, currently owned by Guthrie & Company (Jules & Beck/Gold Medal Shows)

This ride was recently refurbished and is in better condition than when it was originally built. I have ridden many Sky Wheels or varied conditions and I have to say that this is one of the smoothest and quiet I have ever seen, possibly the best currently on the road...no offense intended to some of the other wheels currently on the road.

I filmed this March 2011 at the Atlanta Fair at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. You get the entire on ride experience from just after latching our lap bar until the end of the ride. As you can tell, no one else is on the ride. There weren't too many people at the fair that day thanks to storms that were to hit the Atlanta area later in the evening.

The Sky Wheel is my absolute favorite ride, no fair should be without one, it may look like mild ride but depending what seat you're in, it can get quite wild when you go over the top.
