Lyrics:
In the corner beside my window
There hangs a lonely photograph
There is no reason
I'd never notice
A memory that could hold me back

There is a wound that's always bleeding
There is a road I'm always walking
And I know you'll never return to this place

Gone through days without talking
There is a comfort in silence
So used to losing all ambition
Struggling to maintain what's left

Once undone, there is only smoke
Burning in my eyes to blind
To cover up what really happened
Force the darkness unto me

  • i can't believe this song's terribly sucks after 4.31

  • I'm tired of hearing about Justin Bieber in an actual musician's video. Let's all just shush and listen to the complete Damnation album, it's one of the world's treasures.

  • a unicorn just took a delicious crap in my brain.. oh wait.. just opeth..

  • @ELEPHANTspoon Yes, that does make sense, I get your point :)

However, when talking about such bands I prefer to think about metal as if it were and element, not a genre. An element that can be incorporated to anything really for different sonorities, even though sometimes it doesn't come out very well. For example, Limp Bizkit fused metal with rap and it sucked. Rage Against the Machine did the same but went through other ways and made it sound awesome, and its less metal than LB

  • @PaoloBaixista but, i just think that's looking into the detail of the metal too much;overall it can sound repetitive/uninteresting the first time you hear it and when can it be sweet and melodic? i suppose i mean is it's very versatile, but it stays within certain boundaries. does that make sense? 0.o it probably doesn't sorry...

but i so agree with you in that it can go many places and you can fuse it with pretty much everything out there except maybe indie rock lol. hate indie.

  • @DreadedLeopard you, apparently.

  • @Cigarrock

You, just you. Who gives a shit about what you think.

  • @DreadedLeopard the funniest thing is the only time I see him is in a top comment by some retard like yourself.

  • Rare chords, weird sounds, spooky ideas and genius drums all combined to create a masterpiece... That's what Opeth do... and that's why we love'em. \m/

  • @NicolasSatySanchez No... Eres muy gay y no tienes pene D:! No broma :D

  • Watch my cover guys! I hope you like it!

  • @ELEPHANTspoon Hey, I was not really into the conversation but I read through your comment and I find this a worthy discussion. Metal is actually quite versatile, not by doing experiments within it but by fusing with other genres and developing it into another layers in music itself (hence Opeth!). Many have attempted to develop different "metal" sonorities like Apocalyptica (distorted cellos) or Van Canto (operatic a capella), but the real thing comes in bands like Opeth or Tool.
