He was a TRUE icon to Houston and all of the Lone Star Sate. I was honored to watched him from when I was growing up, and he led me to full fill my dream to become a journalist.

Amen, and ditto! I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Rodriguez during a teen leadership conference at Texas A&M in high school. It was just several minutes, but he was so personable and very interested in what I wanted to do with my future, and he basically told me that no matter what I do, I should reach for the stars.
