This live patching demonstration was recorded for the launch of AudioMulch 2.0, June 5, 2009. An AudioMulch 2.0 patch is built from scratch, starting with a single guitar sample.

This is what we came up with the night before version 2.0 release but we'd love to see some AudioMulch users create and upload their own live-patching videos.

AudioMulch 2.0 is available at:
audiomulch.com

Thanks to Tobias Hengeveld for kindly giving permission to use a guitar loop sampled from his new album.

  • how does the sound that comes in at around 3:40 come about? from bubbleblower and delay?

  • @BeneBuscape at 3:40 that's the right-hand chain SDelay > PulseComb > SouthPole > SDelay Most important is (PulseComb>SouthPole). PulseComb is tuned to make a buzzing oscillator type sound, then SouthPole chops and filters the buzzing to create the resonant pulses. Clock-synced random LFO on the SouthPole adds variation to the filtering. SDelay at end adds more rhythm/space (ping pong delay). SDelay at the start is to make a more constant input for the PulseComb so it buzzes more regularly.

  • @SK8terGuy19 the guitar is sampled by permission from track 6 "On The Night You Were Born" from TOBIAS HENGEVELD - ALL THE LINES ARE DOWN. My brother produced the album.

  • Wow... This is something I've never seen before.. Amazing. What song from the album is this sampled from?

  • Amazing. Just amazing. Have had about four hours use out of AM so far, but it's easily the most 'fun' (in a serious audio mangling sense!) tool I've used in a very long time.

    Kudos.

  • @TomJepson If you good at what you do and you enjoy it, tools become toys

  • Beautiful! I started looking at Audiomulch when I heard that Four Tet uses it, and it's obvious that this is exactly what I was looking for.

  • girltalk uses this

  • At first very unimpressive... Then ridiculously impressive.
