I agree. This is a fantastic project. I am sure you will get many volunteers. I would volunteer to help if I lived there. I like the fact that the gov't isn't going to do this with confiscated funds, and that they voiced no opposition to you doing it on a volunteer basis.

That's really impressive! An added benefit is that when people work together to improve something they get to know their neighbors and build a sense of community that is rewarding. You don't get that when the government confiscates the funds and then uses employees to do the work. That just disconnects people from each other and their communities. Great job!

If we preach a free volunteer society we must practice the volunteer part as well as the free part.
