All songs written by Roy Rogers except "Cover Up" (Mathews/Nagle), "Pretty Girls Everywhere" (Williams/Church), "Walkin' Blues" and "Terraplane Blues" (Robert Johnson).
Slidewinder is one of Roy Rogers's best albums, a collection of smoking hot contemporary blues, ranging from jacked-up rocking boogie numbers and dirty Chicago blues to stripped-down acoustic numbers. It all works equally well, especially the two stellar duets with pianist Allen Toussaint. ~ Thom Owens
Recorded at Sea-Saint Studios, New Orleans, Louisiana; Russian Hill Recording and The Pen, San Francisco, California.
Personnel: Roy Rogers (vocals, guitar, tambourine, percussion, background vocals); Dave Terry, Tom Nelson, Keta Bill, Ned Claflin (vocals, background vocals); Charles Owen, John Lee Hooker (vocals); Scott Mathews (guitar, harmonica, piano, drums, percussion, background vocals); Allen Toussaint (piano); Terry Baker (drums); Charlie Owens (background vocals).

@jaquenuno He's also a very, very personable guy to meet, too. As was the late Norton Buffalo. I saw and met both of them at a Summer outdoor show near Boise, ID in 2004. Definitely a concert I'm glad I didn't miss!
