Professor Peskin presents the science of why fish oil supplement recommendations are badly misleading and dangerous to your health. While fish oil may make a difference initially with someone who is EFA deficient, long-term usage can cause damage and make you ill. Please visit BrianPeskin.com for full medical references to everything he covers in the video.

  • Brian, do you still support YES products? A personal anectdpte from me is that fish oil had me anxious, nauseous, tired, headache, constand hunger, heartburn, and feeling sick and polluted. I literally got a cold the next day that I overdosed on fish oil.

The bottom line is that fish oil makes me feel TERRIBLE. I am swtiching to your parent oils blend today. Pumpkin seed oils are VERY healthful.

  • @Razwell Thank you for sharing your experience. I have heard similar from other users of fish oil. Yes, I do recommend YES products. I'm sure you will see much better results with plant-based, Parent EFAs as opposed to inferior fish oil. Best, B

  • From Patricia Kane PhD, bodybio bulletins, Why 4:1 Ratio Oil

"Dark bottles are necessary to protect the EFA oils from light, since light is 1000 times more deleterious to the sensitive oils than exposure to air. They should also be kept cold (refrigerated) all along the process,"

EFA's are MUCH more stable in your body & cell membranes than they are in the outside world, but the fridge is ok cause the light goes out when you shut the door. I think... not sure, maybe we need a study.

  • @andyinla Thank you so much for your input. Yes, it is vital to keep EFAs out of direct light to protect their integrity.

  • Interesting and thanks for the reply Professor. Well from I read, the only way to ingest parent ALA and LA oils is by consuming "raw" Flaxseed and Primrose seeds as heat will damage the oils in these seeds........I take it, animal sources are no good?

  • @PROCESSOR302 Yes, animal sources are not sufficient. There are many seed oils available to get the required LA ALA ratio.

  • Great info. Thanks!

  • @PROCESSOR302 Hello... Yes, DAMAGED ALA intake (trans fats) does contribute to cancer risk, but the whole ALA (Parent Omega 6) is cancer preventive. The confusion over whole and damaged ALA, as well as its derivatives, is widespread and the root of the problem with getting the facts out there.

  • I think he forgot to mention the reports where high ALA intake increased the risk of prostate cancer.

  • Great Video ! God Bless you !..i don't take no fish oil ! i always knew any type of oil is bad for you ! i never waisted my money in supplements such as fish oil ! and i dont eat fish because its contaminated with Mercury and PCBs !!!!!
