At least two videos on Youtube show a member of the Afghan army throwing away his RPG, probably because it fails to fire.

In the comments, many self-proclaimed weapons experts suggested that was the right thing to do because of the grenade's self-destruct or because it could overheat due to the rocket motor burning. Since people prefer to believe things taken out of the context they heard somewhere rather than proven facts, I decided to make this video.
So let's see how the RPG grenade really works and why it is a bad idea to dispose of the weapon in the nearest ditch.

  • Fail u don´t need to say grenade bacause RPG already means "Rocket propelled grenade"

  • @darthjump In a perfect world, stupidity would hurt. In a perfect world, you'd need a lot of pain killers. Too bad the world isn't perfect. Check your facts before trying to act smart, because (yes it's "because", not "bacause") all you achieve is the exact opposite.

  • very nice explenation, complecated but i got a view about how it works, but a question about the igniters are they gunpowder? i mean they are refilled every shot?

  • @DeathGhost809 I'm not sure what you mean. What igniters?

  • @Omsbon i do not remember the names Unfortunately but its in the first parts of the video, from the trigger to the motor inside the grenade

  • @DeathGhost809 Still don't know what you're talking about, but once the grenade is fired, it's gone. You don't have to refill anything.

  • @bayyagg The RPG-2 was influenced by the Panterfaust 150. The RPG-7 is an independent design.
