Hey, all, Lars here with an update for my untitled Mega Man fangame project.

I'm showing off two new levels in progress: Desert Man and Sound Man's stages.
Please note that these levels are still VERY incomplete, and are still missing a lot of enemies and hazards that will be added later on.

Desert Man's stage takes place in a series of desert ruins, amidst a field of solar energy collectors. I chose to eschew the traditional quicksand usually found in desert levels for some more original hazards, such as sinkholes and dust devils.

Sound Man's stage takes place in a high-tech broadcasting center. There are plenty of high-powered amplifiers built into the floor and walls, which emit powerful sound waves capable of pushing around platforms or even Mega Man himself.

Also shown is part of the battle against Laser Man. His level has undergone a number of tweaks and modifications since my last video, and now it's mostly complete apart from a few minor bugfixes here and there.

  • so practically you're adding some of the Megaman Battle Network bosses who don't have normal megaman counterparts?

  • @2pokepan

No, the names are just coincidences. I did not have MMBN in mind when I made them.

  • very nice enemy design. i like the sound man stage too... you did everything yourself?

  • @Sonic88

Everything design-wise, if that's what you mean.

  • @LarsLuron

good job with the physics, the rush coil seems a off for the jump, i think it is -7px/frame speed, may be i am wrong about that.

the stages are very well done, so u did the sprites drawing, the game design, the tiles?

did u do the programming too?

  • @Sonic88

Not all of it. The "engine" I'm using is based off of the game source for Mega Man: Day in the Limelight, a different fan game made by Riverroad. Of course that only included the basics, such as game physics, hit points, damage code, 1ups, etc. etc.- beyond that I had to add everything myself.

  • you cant have quake man without putting in doom man(lol)

  • Very Very Nice ! But the Boss should have more damage to you

  • I like how all the sprites disappear when you open the menu, it's like the NES games

  • @RagingBanebou Whoops, I meant the Phillie Phanatic. ^_^;

  • I like Sound Man's design! He reminds me of the Green Monster! XD

  • @Munchzor Basilisk lizard, you mean?

Oh, and sorry if I'm interrupting here.

  • @Akutare I know! They're modeled after that one lizard that can run on water, I think. They're cute.
