  • I remember this show very well. I was standing on the sidewalk when UT pulled up in their robins-egg blue Dodge van. They hit the back of the Replaceements tour bus. Knocked out both UT headlights. When they piled out it was the band + Brian Henneman and 2 guys from Rockville Records--and all the gear. No trailer It was my first time hearing them and it blew me away. After the show they drove off into the dark with no headlights. On their way to South Carolina I believe. Unreal.

  • Like Townes van Zandt, these guys did and still seem to write lyrics that could only come from folks much older and that have been through the shit of life, bent out of shape by societies pliers. but the lyrics of sound as if from someone 55 are coming from yong punks. . Amazing dylans of our time

  • @GodBurger holy shit ! that is the most introspective , cool comment on youtube . greatness (tupelo)inspires greatness(you) are you a writer ? well done .

  • wilco had one pretty good album, A.M. and one okay album full of a few good tracks and mostly boring filler. jay farrar has been quietly under the radar putting out some of the most important american music since the 1990s.

  • @11xzxzxz Son Volt kicks ass too, Uncle Tupelo was like the Beatles, 2 great bands from it!!!!

  • Hey I always favored Wilco but this song is worthy of Wilco. I really did listen to 6 songs but sometimes it just takes one more search, one more listen. Forgive me I knew not that I sinned ..

  • Awesome, just awesome.

  • They sound great live, great song writting.

  • I love UNCLE TUPELO sooo fuuuckin' muucchhhh...

  • Definitely remember this show. My first time seeing these guys. I was so excited about seeing the Mats, I thought I wouldn't care about the opening band. Damn, was I wrong. Bought "No Depression" on vinyl the next day. If only I knew then, what I know now...
