This Archive fottage shows how Salmon were Gill Netted on Killala bay. Most of these Salmon were destined for Rivers along the west coast of Ireland and most probably for the River Moy. Duiring the film the Narratror Cathal O'Shannon coments that this may be the Last generation of Drift Netters in Ireland, and how right he was, Because in 2006 this form of fishing for Salmon was made illegal. While some Poaching still continues the bulk of the Remaining Atlantic Salmon bound for the Moy and other systems can now navigate Killala Bay unhindered.
