Whats sad about this whole situation is that these videos are suppose to info us MLO's and yet an average of only 3000 people have even watched them. I who feel that NAMB and CAMB/CAMP fail LARGELY on the new compensation rules still watch these videos.
NAMB and local state chapters dropped the ball and acted to slowly to respond to the changes to our business. Both were to focused on membership when the ship began to sail when LO comp was in it's infancy.
I'm wondering what the end game is, Socialism in housing? I see a slow and methodical dismantling of the housing market to the point that fewer people CAN buy, and for the rest it's made almost too difficult for not only the consumer but everyone involved in the real estate transaction. There is something creeping up on us. Housing used to be the top dog as far as the economy goes and the government is attempting to shift housing away from ruling the economy. It's the baby and bathwater game.
I would ask the FED to make the Barney Frank suggested changes and remove the mortgage brokerage in the definition of "Loan Originator" in exchange for our dismissal of the suit.
Come on. Do you want representation or an after-school milk and cookie club? Representation costs money. That's the truth in Washington DC today. Join and pay the dues. You owe it to yourself. Also, if Barney Frank wants to intervene with the Fed on our behalf, I welcome it. He isn't going to issue any apologies. He can't in his position. I am not a big fan, but apparently he sees things have gone too far and wants to take steps to correct it. Would you rather he do nothing?
Mr. Anderson,I find it interesting that there has been no major formal support from the National Association of Realtors or from the Title Insurance industry. I also find it interesting and amusing that now you're looking to increase membership at this late point in the game. It appears that the game of politics and saving face is being played rather than taking up an honest and real fight for what's on the line; our livelihoods.
How about making it FREE to join NAMB?? I would join, but I am trying to save my house...... Making it free would encourage EVERY mortgage professional as well as most affilliates to join and stay updated with recent material. This would show a stronger population being affected and would give NAMB the specific database to go out and get donations when needed for specific causes such as this law suit. Members would go from 6000 to 60,000 overnight, unifying the forces. Thanks for the update
Thank Barney Frank???? Are you serious! He once said in a televised meeting that his goal is to put ALL mortgage brokers out of business, and he and his co-horts have gone a long way towards their means. Until I hear an appology from him and Dodd, I will not be thanking him for anything no matter how many letters he writes or to whom.
YES, PLEASE CONTINUE TO GO FORWARD ! LET'S NOT GIVE UP !!

Themrloanman hit it right on the head. But more than just an apology needs to fix the messes he has made.
