In Forbidden Lies, filmmaker Anna Broinowski investigates the case of Norma Khouri Bagain, a Jordanian women who wrote the best selling Forbidden Love, a supposedly nonfiction book about an 'honor killing' that allegedly took place in Amman. Forbidden Love book was interpreted by many Jordanians, including prominent women, as an misrepresentation of Islam. As the book's errors and impossibilities were pointed out, Khouri's story and reputation began to fall apart.

Polygraph test is not always accurate. I am on Norma's side for that. I mean just imagine, you are accused for lying and you are desperately trying to prove your honesty and would not you be afraid or nervous whether it will prove you right. For god's sake, she's a human being, not a machine. The reactions can be due to the fact that she's nervous not because she's lying. You can't prove anything from lie detector test results...
