In this lesson, we meet the Hebrew alphabet for the first time. We learn that the Hebrew alphabet has a very long history. In fact, the Western (Latin) alphabet and the Hebrew alphabet have the same origin. In our lessons, we talk about this development and show how it all started from a drawing of a picture that represented a word, which subsequently evolved into all Latin scripts.
From here we learn our first 8 letters: ל/מ/נ/ר, and also the gutturals א/ה/ח/ר.

It's VERY confusing the way she reads this...

in created (בראשית) she reads the hiriq as a long e (ee)...

in G♥D's name she also reads it as a long e (ee)...

in water (המים) she reads the hiriq as a long i (ii)...

That's VERY confusing... does this niqqudot have the same pronounciation, long e, in every word with every letter... or is this some type of variation??? like "i before e except after c", "hiriq is long e (ee) except under a yod"... LOL...

There is no length difference in Hebrew in pronunciation.
