Our Project Team is an unusual mix of players, from our city's Mayor, to a university professor, to the first time small business owner, to an artist on his bike and everyone in between. Once a 1950s era commercial district plagued by crime, blight and vacant buildings now is in the exciting transformation process of becoming a funky, eclectic place to shop, work, live and play. Work has been done by this team to add pedestrian amenities, implement sustainable greening projects, hosting local public art walks & exhibits, Street Fairs and other types of events to enhance the district over the last 11 years. There is much more work to be done though.

  • Also if the parking lot is for public use mainly, and not set up to benefit a private entity would it not make since to have the main entrances off of 7th ave and not next to the pharmacy off of a residential road? Also why would you want an art and garden area next to the busy road when it could be next to a building and residential road?

  • I like the idea. However, who will tend to the garden? Who will be in charge of the finances? Who will also check up on those people for proper use of the monies? Why is the parking area so large when compared to the garden and art area? What about the current advertising sign that is there? Has it been clearly documented that this project is for public interest ONLY without any direct private gains? Answer and I shall vote!

  • Next, get rid of the suicide lane and watch how the neighborhood transforms.
