  • That guy is stupid, ADAM LAMBERT IS JEWISH

  • to poitier111 you've just described every artist out there. Everyone is self indulgent. Tell me one entertainer who doesn't want the spotlight on them???? However the best artists are the ones who are true to who they really are and don't sing songs because it's what's hot at the time.

  • OMG I LIVE IN ST PAUL! EEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE ADAM! I really wanted to go last year. I AM GOING TO THE MN (ST PAUL) JINGLE BALL IN LIKE 30 MINUTES NOW! AAAAAHHH!

  • @RosaLui If Adam had more fans like you, he would actually be a star right off the bat. You seem to accept whatever he does. As you can see, in the real world people want an artist who is willing to make music for them and not just for himself. Lucky for him, there are people out there who revel in his self-indulgence, and he seems to be making a good living off of them. My point has always been that he doesn't seem to care as long as he's in the spotlight to some degree.

  • @poitier111 Ah. Maybe that's where we're not understanding each other, because I'm not really paying attention, or caring, what his reputation is or how much he's living up to national expectation. He continues to live up to my own expectations, and I don't see why being a flashy artist, as you say, means he has to kill it or sink right off the bat. He's human and doing his best, and IMHO his best is pretty damn good. ^^

  • @RosaLui That's exactly my point. Adam was expected to be the next big thing by his fans and everyone else who's heard of him. The buzz on him was off the charts. Anything less than a million albums sold is a major disappointment. His reputation now is that of a media whore, not as a hitmaking star. And "getting there" is simply not good enough for flashy artist like him.

And the only singing style that he's exhibited does not reflect anything he did in musical theater.

  • @poitier111 He's gone gold in the US, which is halfway there, and platinum in two other countries. it's not Gaga levels of fame and success, but it is getting there.

And re: adopted a different singing style to make it relevant - um. Have you listened to his whole album? Or seen him on tour now? Because he's kind of singing like he always did. ._.

....And he HAS a hit single. I'm really confused at all this... confusion. XD

  • @RosaLui Going platinum internationally isn't the same as domestically. Ask the Beatles. The bar is set at platinum pluse to be considered a legit recording star.

And if you haven't noticed, Adam has adopted a different singing style in order to make his singing relevant. We've already gone over that.

And nobody says he has to "be" maistream in order to be successful. I said he would have to produce hit singles that "appeal" to the mainstream. Lady Gaga is proving that it can be done.

  • @poitier111 Er, to reply to both comments in one - he's gone platinum in a few countries by now. That's not megastar level, but it doesn't need to be.

I don't see why he should HAVE to 'take the theater out of himself'. He always sounds very, very good live. As long as he keeps that consistency, there's no reason not to put on a whole crazy show.

This is not a person who will completely mainstream himself just for record sales. That is actually part of why we love him.

  • @RosaLui You can take the theater out of the boy, but you can't take the boy out of the theater. I'm pretty sure that performing is what Adam wants to do the most. He gets asked about the performances because that's what he does best, andeven his music reflects that. In Pop, music takes the center stage. The job of the artist is to be creative. Adam believes that he is more imprtant than the music. Unfortunately, it's a recipe for a short career and a cult following.
