Students at Ucluelet Secondary School have the chance to participate in a Outdoor Education Program. At the end of the program they will get a great life learning experience and several certifications including, Basic Wilderness First Aid, CPR Level C, VHF Radio certificate, Paddle Canada Level 1 skills, Paddle Canada Level 2 skills and SKGABC Day Guide Certification. The students will have to chance to work as apprentice for local outfitters and being paid for. Furthermore, the end of the program includes a 5 day trip in the Broken Groups Islands. This program started in 2005.
