Where could one find just the treadmill part? Is it a lot of money. Seeing that I would use this just for 1-2 mile per hour walking, that's all I need. The places that make the desks charge an amount that is too much for just the walking tread part... somewhere like 700.00 or something. You can get a whole treadmill for that. I have a treadmill, but the arms don't extend out and I'm concerned with it being too large for my office at work. I have a very small office.

I wished I could find someone to make one for me. My treadmill arms are not straight out to sit something like this on top of. So much of what I have looked at is expensive and I just don't have money to work with right now. Did you have any type of transitioning period or adjustment to walking and doing your work at first. Please share if you can about this part.

Walking tredmills are actually a great idea due to the fact that sitting down puts pressure on your back discs, pelvis and more muscles. Its also proven to decrease your enzyme activity leaving fat in the bloodstream.

I've been thinking about doing this for about a year - some good desks on the market for walking, and I found a treadmill without arms to get in the way of a desk. I think I'd need 2 workspaces, tho, so could veg out at least 3/4 of the time.

Very nice, but please adjust the speed so your treadmill is in tune with the Goldberg Variations. Poor Bach...
i wished you would show your desk setup and let us know if you built it. I'm obese and am wanting to lose a lot of weight, but I know I need to workout rigorously which I will do, but I have a problem with sitting for long periods of time with the kind of work I do - I work in closed captioning script transcription. After sitting awhile I can barely stand up and I'm stiff. I know this would be something that could greatly help my health and circulation and help me. Thank you!

You sound like the perfect candidate for a Treadmill Desk. Your life is about to change! Yes, I did build my desk setup. It's just a piece of smooth Melamine (available at Home Depot) over some planks of Styrofoam that rest on the arms of my treadmill. It's simple, cheap and works very well.
