Fairport have always been an eclectic bunch of magpies, acquiring musos and material from a variety of sources. This has made for a rich and ever-changing, never-boring feast for all who love them. I've loved them for decades and was lucky enough to see them in Katoomba, Australia about 13 yrs ago in an intimate setting. I was the only member of the audience who had even heard of them. I had tears streaming down my face throughout. They gave me sloppy kisses and a free ticket for the next night.

Sensational. They do sometimes misfire when they go outside their main competence, but this is brilliant. Who is doing what? RT lead vocal?

I am a huge Fairport fan. This may not be their usual style, but I think it's a great version of the song.

Good stuff - I too was there.
Pretty sure the female backing voices are Roy Wood regulars the Naylor twins.
Wood's brass section (made up largely from the more pulchritudinous members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra) was truly brilliant
