  • Hello???? Boeing outsources their work all the time!!! Moreover, you don't award a bid to an inferior product just because it's "American"...that's narrow minded. You want the best product at the tax payer's expense and the Northrop/EADS is the best bang for the buck. I thought we Americans wanted the best of the best.....we got it so deal with it. Don't blame Airbus, but blame Boeing for delivering and inferior proposal.......competition and NOT entitlement, remember?

  • This decision boils down to patriotism and the tax dollars to be spent off US soil. The cost of this program is bothersome enough - add the required infrastructure needs for the EADS airplane and you have spent BILLIONS more. We also just provided France a US tax-paid manufactuing facility with that didn't cost them a dime. This has everything to do with patriotism and keeping tax dollars at home! This is not an American product regardless what Northrop says. THAT is what it is all about.

  • Not really. It's a shared venture that provides the best solution for the Air force; moreover, Boeing really screwed up on this one with their sense of entitlement, and I heard that they were extremely difficult to work with by not adhering to provisions of the RFP. I believe in letting competitive forces determine the best outcome, and Northrop Grumman's proposal is superior to that of Boeing. Boeing has outsourced their work for decades, so what's the big deal anyway? Look at the 777 project..

  • Angry? I don't think so. EADS has made a preliminary decision to move construction of air freighters to Alabama, as well, to take advantage of the new KC-45 Facility in Mobile; a venture that would seem to exploit the weekend dollar but will inevitably put in place a conduit that will pump many of those KC-45 dollars back home as well as a few Euros and, in time, help to strengthen the dollar.

  • so- are you americans quite angry that EADS got the "jackpot" and not Boeing?
