The Awkward Series PART 1!

PART 1 of an ongoing "Made-For-Internet" SERIES.

Last year, as an inside joke between my best friend Jorgé and I, I made a little video called "Bobby Rydell: The Awkward Made-For-Internet Movie" (http://youtu.be/ED9Z6k88w_A). Jorgé, in turn, because she is completely awesome, made her own response to it called, "Neil Sedaka: The Awkward Made-For-Internet Movie". (GO WATCH NOW!: http://youtu.be/H8zIgcxMrqI) And yes, if you are wondering, we are, in fact, two mature, grown-up adult girls, who like to dress up as characters and make unnecessary movies, because, let's face it, it IS the coolest thing to do. To explain as best I can what this whole concept is, ...it's a sort of fan fiction, but taken to the next level. It's kinda like what would happen, in our minds, if some of our interests and favorite people came together in some imaginative world, where they had to interact with one another for no reason whatsoever, and no one is really sure exactly what year it is.

I was having so much fun with my original story that I wasn't ready to be done, so I decided to make a sequel series based off it, including as many other characters into the mix as possible. I frustratingly dabbled on a storyline and script for the longest time, and finally, back in October, began the filming and editing process. I will be uploading each new part as I get it completed.

Since the original Bobby movie I made last year was SO well-received by the friendly Bobby fans across the country, who weren't at all quick to judge a young stranger, and didn't find it easy to literally jam a knife into my spirits, (insert sarcastic laughter here), I feel I have to add a million disclaimers all over this thing JUST to keep the hatred down. Geez people. Seriously,...don't take it seriously. Or better yet, just lighten up. TO BE CLEAR: These are purposely exaggerated and/or made-up CHARACTER versions of these people. They are NOT supposed to be accurate depictions! Honestly as much as I love to do voices, I fail at impressions, so that would never work anyway. Yes, I am aware Bobby sounds more like he's from some undisclosed location in Brooklyn instead of Philadelphia. I KNOW. I'm also aware my singing and acting capabilities are atrocious and I should probably be punished for them. I'm a quiet shy girl in real life, being in front of a camera ain't my forte. I'm also aware the quality on this looks and sounds ghastly. My camera is ancient. I KNOW. I am aware of lots of things. I am aware of everything wrong with this video. Just.....SETTLE. DOWN.

And don't worry if you are confused. I do not at all expect everyone to understand each joke or subtle reference I threw into this series. Some things I just included for the sake of a personal chuckle. If you have any questions about ANYthing, I will be more than happy to answer, if I can. The BASIC story is that Roddy McDowall has just moved over from London and into Bobby's house after Melanie offered him a place to stay. Melanie had hoped the two boys would become good friends, but Bobby doesn't trust the spoiled conniving little brat that Roddy is, and knows he is just mooching off him and plans to steal his chick. Melanie assures Bobby that she and Roddy are merely just friends and doesn't believe him when he tries to tell her that Roddy is bad news. He's constantly having to hide his true feelings over the whole situation, knowing that his actions could ultimately lead to losing Melanie. He tries to brush it off, but can Bobby keep his cool forever? Does Roddy have evil up his sleeve? Will Neil Sedaka ever learn how to play a dvd? Only time will tell.

Alrighty, so, I've just finished watching the both of these, and will absolutely have a big boat load of comments for them in the near future... but until then, let me quickly express my love for this spectacular series! It is just that, so completely spectacular, Mel!! Just had me cracking up with laughter and smiling throughout. Goodness gracious, all the inside jokes! <3 What a great way to kick of 2012!! :] Now, if you'll excuse me... gotta go watch it all over again!
