John and Ruth at JD Tandems had organised an 'open weekend' with some rides and events which happened to coincide with us spending the weekend there to try out their Hase Pino tandems. On the Saturday we rode out on one but I didn't wear the camera. Sunday we took part in a treasure hunt and rode John and Ruth's own Pino.
Have now had the Hase for a month and ridden more locally and the Isle of Wight Randonee (66 miles). Probably heavier than a conventional tandem, so big uphills are slow going. Handles well at speed and is v. stable. Overall we feel the advantages of the stoker seating and better communications outweigh the extra weight. Fits down the middle of our Multipla upside down and minus wheels. Best of all, it's a great ice-breaker and we always end up talking to folks wherever we go.
