Okay... I just saw Carrie Underwood's version. No doubt, Carrie Underwood can sing. But like you said, everyone has the right to an opinion. Mine is this... as good as Carrie Underwood is, when it comes to this song she's not in the same league as Celine. It's not even close. Again, I understand everyone has different tastes. Celine Dion just took this song and made it hers with this performance.

i love celine.. immortality, surrender, think twice, and many many.. more. but some songs just don't get me going unless it has genuine passion. i feel this version lacks the soul and i or anyone has the right to say so without being called names or whatnot... my country is based on freedom... i shall excersize my right.
