@duckppl haha all of them around here do, there is nothing to do in nebraska XD since i board my horses elsewhere (i moved them from my grandparents house) i have nothing to do when i visit my grandparents XD i didnt realize how much time i spent with the horses but i keep walking in the pen and im like.... wat to do wat to do all day XD

@Inoryuki I don't like the sound of that, I have never heard of that from the BLM places near me(plus, the ones near me don't have pastures, just the auction pens).
I hope that the mustangs end up with good homes! It's wishful thinking, but at the last BLM adoption (near me) almost ALL of them were adopted out to people!! yay! (anfd the few that were not were sent back out)
-
@duckppl not after the age of 6, they dont ever set ones they have already caught free, they just move from pasture to pasture, according to the nebraska blm their main pasture is alabama, and i believe with 3 strike you still have to sign the contract, you just dont have to wait a year to own them
-
@Inoryuki No, they stay in their respective states(there are many BLM reserves throughout the US though). the ones that are not bought are sent back out to their reserve/field where they live wild. after 3 strikes, the meat buyers only go for cheap ones(less than $175-ish usually). the BLM does not slaughter them, but the buyers do have to spend money shipping them to Canada or Mexico for slaughter. (the BLM may vary from state to state, I'm talking about west coast/western states)

@duckppl after 3 times of being sent back from an adoption you mean, the others are sent to this place in alabama and the goverment uses tax money to feed them, and the ones that get the 3 time strike out cost alot, more than you could get from slaughtering them, youd loose money

@Ash791995 OBSERVED/DOCUMENTED/PHOTOGRAPE
D: Triple B roundup currently underway. Tiny FOALS are routinely being chased by helicopters in miles-long stampedes.These babies try hard to keep up with their families but often fall behind and are roped and brought into the trap by wranglers. The majority of the nine horses who have been killed to date in the Triple B roundup are FOALS.The tragedy could be prevented by prohibiting roundups in the summer a time when FOALS are young and vulnerable. -
@Ash791995 T/Y for sharing your knowledge of foals & pregnant mares. Perhaps this wealth of info you learned at school in your hometown of The Magical Land of Unicorns? Nah. What you were kind enough to share sounds..too familiar. It's precisely what is either written or spews from the mouths of all BLM employees; intended for use & directed to the clueless, unknowing, unquestioning, foolish, child-like 'adults'. You know NOTHING about horses, let alone our WILD ONES! Your comment is proof ..

@duckppl UPDATE: "A federal investigation of all wild horses sold by the BLM over the past 5 years after 2 truckloads of wild horses headed to slaughter were seized last week. This latest development calls into question BLM's practice of selling truckloads of horses ( $25 a horse or less) from short & long term holding facilities and whether Congress' mandate that no BLM mustangs be sold for commercial slaughter is being upheld." WOW! TWO trucks seized! IMO, they conveniently missed HUNDREDS!
-
They do not kill them, they do however have to round them up and sell them. They have to sell them to keep the amount of horses the land they are on can provide for. However, after 3 times of going through sales without a new home they will allow slaughters to buy em. (it is illegal to shoot or steal the horses on the BLM land)
Oh, please...you expect us to believe anyone within the 'BLM' gives a damn about our wild mustangs or burros.; afraid NOT. They round them up with helicopters; the horses are running for their lives at full speed - pregnant mares, mares with foals literally being run to death. Foals can't keep up and if the do they have run their hooves completely off and wind up dieing in holding pens. Don't believe me, go search for info NOT put out by the BLM on the CALICO ROUNDUP. Check that out! BLM sucs!!!

They are called wild mustangs for a reason! They are suppose to be free to roam the lands where they belong! They don't belong stalled! They don't derserve what is happening to them! Leave them be and let them be free! That is how to save a wild mustang!
