Written when beautiful melodies were king. Ketty Lester revived it in the 1960s. And, she still was doing a great job singing it in 2002.

The 1944 movie that this lovely melody is from is "Love Letters" The song took the same name as the movie. Lyrics were added by Edward Heyman.
I have seen it once on TCM. I have a recording of the movie.

I believe this song came from an old Joseph Cotten/jennifer Jones picture made in the late 40's. The name of this picture escapes me, but once in a while they show it on TCM.
