@martinalexandrov when you drive faster you burn the gasoline less efficiently. driving slower just by 10km/h, greatly reduces the amount of gas you burn, and still arrive at a similar time. therefore when you've arrived, you've burnt less gas. did you not listen to his talking points?

Screw that. I'll continue to drive my SUV, four wheel through the woods killing small animals, not recycle, etc.

Actually, "use less gas" should be replaced with "better fuel economy". You will increase your miles/gallon. So, even though you drive for a longer period of time, that tank of gas will allow you to travel farther.

That's stupid, if you drive slower you'll get to your destination slower, making up for the gas you would waste if you went at a faster speed.
