The background moralizing makes this movie great. I saw this my senior year in high school and never forgot Erica Gavin. As I recall she did something with a fish????
@stravinskyrocks Brian De Palma's Greetings was actually the first American film to be rated X. Vixen appears to have been released first but it may have been retroactively rated X.
@stravinskyrocks I did not know that, although the drive-in I saw it at, might have cut some scenes out. The XXX movies now are more explicit. Vixens had some really fine women in it. The only thing I had before that, was Playboy and maybe Hustler.
This movie was a hard R back in the day. All I know Russ Meyers knows how to pick 'em. It was better than Deepthroat which I saw in a Pasadena Tx. theater "El Capitan" in the mid 70's. But Deepthroat did have something going on in color film that man had never done before. Linda Lovelace was worth the price of admission.
I saw it at a drive-in theater in Ashville N.C. back in the early 70's. We were too young to get in so we watched it from a motel parking lot. It is good even if it was a silent movie for us.
