  • I was wondering a couple things like why is there no stack on the back of the Erie for the rear engine to exhaust from and if the rear engine evewn worked or if they just coasted

  • If you look at the video of the triplex pulling the yellowstone you can see the stack at the back pointing down towards the track. This so you don't get passengers wet from the exhaust. All six engines do work and work very well. The reason the Triplex did not work out for the railroad was because the boiler could not keep up with enough pressure to run all six cylinders for a long enough time.

  • What 28882 names on the tender

  • Erie

  • where did you get that 2-8-8-8-2 train.or did someone get it for you?

  • Dad built it from scratch.

  • Holy steaming shit! An operational Triplex locomotive!!!!! I don´t care if it´s miniature or not!

  • That's my kind of toy.

  • wat scale/gauge is that?

  • around how much $ did it cost you to buy or make?

  • wow...now THATS what i call a LIVE STEAM model!!!!!!!

  • ok thanks for the info on the exhaust but i was saying the reason the boiler could not keep up enough pressure was because the third engine did not draft through the smoke box so it reduced the draft on the fire so it was using the steam by it was not returning as the draft like the other engines

  • I agree with the higher than scale boiler pressure helping because the reason they ran slow was because since the rear engine exhausted out of the stack on the back of the tender that reduced the amout of draft on the fire

  • The problem of the Triplex was that the couplers used around the time it was built was not strong enough to stand the weight of the load when pulled so the engines were used as helper egines
