So... would you etch first and then color or color then etch?

@123barefeet which she can't control! lol
Looks like this is the first time she's tried using this paint! lol

@MadeByMarzipan You only put the paint on the outside of the item, so, how is that an argument for "food safe?" I don't put the food or drink on the outside of the container. Holds up in dishwasher is good.

@MadeByMarzipan But... does it leave the glass "colored" or only etched? Thanks:)

Does this work for glass etching?

@Zombiemeatloaf I'm not certain what you're asking... Pebeo does make a "frosted" medium, designed to give the appearance of etched glass. It can be mixed with any color. Hope that helps :)

I used the food color/mod podge technique and had pretty good results. I let it dry thoroughly and then sealed it with a glossy spray sealer. Hasn't washed off yet. (I haven't been using it for food products though).

@jenkirstenjad Mod Podge is fine for non-food products. But using Pebeo paint means you can use your glass item for anything, and it looks more like the "real" vintage glass than the Mod Podge glaze technique. Using a spray sealant with your Mod Podge was a really good idea, though. Happy crafting!

So you can paint on any types of glass right? It's not going to hurt putting in the oven? I have a big jar that I put Candy in that I wanted to paint is that something I can do with this paint?

@Valjoemojo All glass is oven-safe. However, you should avoid sudden extremes in temperature (such as putting your dish straight from the oven into the snow to make it cool faster). There's a great article on this subject on Michaels dot com, search for "glass painting basics" and you'll feel reassured! :)
