What's the proof? In all due respects, the bible is not proof. It's a book written long ago. If there was a book written long ago of a space alien (not Xenu) who created everything, millions of people would believe it as much as u do the bible. Faith is believing without knowing. U were surrounded by a group of people who convinced u to be a christian and created your faith. But if ur jesus returned to earth today showing no divinity (proof), but only asked for faith alone, u wouldn't believe.

There is plenty of proof that Jesus existed. He said that He was the Son of God who came to this world to die for sins so that we could have eternal life. All He wants is for all to accept what He did on the cross for the forgiveness of sins (we are all guilty of sinning, no matter how large or small the offense) When we ask Him to be our Saviour we are accepted into heaven. He doesn't ask us to give up anything. He changes us from the inside so that eventually we will be more like him.

Not that this is the crux of the argument being presented, but just because there's compelling evidence that Jesus existed doesn't mean that there's compelling evidence that he said what the New Testament claims he said or that if he did (or if others did posthumously in his name), that those claims have merit.

"There is plenty of proof that Jesus existed."

There is ZERO proof that Jesus existed.

You know, you say G-d bless after a nasty, abusive, self-rigteous statement. It's people like you that Penn and other non-Christians have a problem with, You don't come from a place of love as Jesus teaches you to, but rather from a place of wanting to believe that you're better than everyone else. You enjoy the idea that others who don't do what you do are going to hell

I agree fully with Penn, as a non Christian myself (I'm Jewish) that proselytizing from a place of love is not offensive

Whoo, this is one slippery slope. The same thinking that says "my belief in Jesus's teachings is so pure and right, it's my mission to ensure others know them too despite their objections" could also apply to those who believe Mohammad says all infidels must die. Or those who believe abortion clinics should be bombed because the Bible says so. Or those who believe Jews are an inferior race and should be exterminated. Etc, etc. My way is the right way is dangerous thinking, no matter who says it.
