A Trip to the Moon (French: Le Voyage dans la lune) is a 1902 French black and white silent science fiction film. It is loosely based on two popular novels of the time: From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne and The First Men in the Moon by H. G. Wells

Jesus. That guy with the white beard is a total badass. The mooninite king or whoever brings them before him, he just breaks his bonds and kills him by slamming him to the ground.

Those girls in the beginning looked pretty good! I know for that time this was probably revolutionary, but boy would these people be blown away by watching our modern movies like Inception, Iron man 3, Transformers, Batman... I'm sure someone will be saying the same thing about us too...

As it's so important in the history of film, the moon (& loads of other things from it) are so iconic that any whipped-cream-face-planet in any other film/TV show (ex, Mighty Boosh)/game, etc is based on this whether the creators realize it or not!

You cannot 'remember when this came out'. Since you then would be about 111 years old! But it surely was a great hit when it got out, and a movie was even made about this film specifcly called Hugo (2011). Look it up. :)
