First part of thirteen. Our trip to North Korea was a visit to a fucking communist themepark except that instead of communism it was mind-blowing mentally retarded religious experience involving some dude's massive ego and millions of people told to celebrate it. The country is a mental asylum, we had all the freedom to move of the "guests" at Guantanamo and have seen enough creepy propaganda crap to last 5 lifetimes.

Alas. The first part is an intro to the country and the history/politics without which the rest wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Grab a sandwich and sit through it. Or not. Thats what it is and thats what you get. Enjoy.

Huge lump of cash is a big pile of money. The USD lump of cash is one-sixth the size of a Yuan RMB lump, but then it depends on precise denominations. Let's say the lump is made of 100 yuan bills, and the other of 100 dollar bills, then the American lump is one-sixth the size.

I wonder how you got away with shooting all that video. The North Koreans are hopping made that some people from the BBC were able to sneak in and shoot videos. They somehow got away with filming inside the masuoleum where the have the corpses of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong on display. People on that trip have reportedly gotten threatening Emails from the North Korea government after returning home to Britain.

Not sure. I really dislike the Kims and their followers, but while the Kims know very well what's going on, the follower are just fucking dumb sheep. Do we blast the sheep, or do we help them? Having said that, when Zee germans were dumb sheep, they got blasted for attacking their neighbours, and I feel good about that. I guess it depends on who fires the first shot.

Even if the North Koreans started cracking down on photos/videos, I believe the BBC trip took place well after these videos were shot. Plus, they encourage video taking in all areas that make their country look amazing.

The fact that they were able to film in the mausoleum where the corposes of the Kims are kept lets people around the world see what few others have ever seen. I would imagine you were probably there before Kim Jong Il became part of the mausoleum.
