After ages of obsessing over this film, Black Swan (seriously, I've been following it for over a year), I was beyond excited when the trailer came out. And, man, does that trailer make me even more excited. But, I was also seized by the sudden idea to make a trailer with Princess Tutu clips because, I mean, well, need I actually explain this? They seem to fit really well.
However, I did NOT make this a "strict" trailer, per say. Basically, I tried to put some of my own ideas in there.
Ahiru/Tutu (and some Kraehe): Nina
Rue (and some Kraehe): Lily
Mytho: White Swan
Fakir: Black Swan
I love the idea that, for people so set on a single thing, sometimes, the obsession will blur with reality. This is what I wanted to show in this trailer. Nina (Ahiru) is so totally focused on perfectly performing in "Swan Lake" that, for her, it feels as though the dream has become reality.
Mytho and Fakir represent the characters of the White and Black Swans in the story of "Swan Lake", but they also represent the light and dark sides of Ahiru. The whole idea is that, eventually, Ahiru's grasp on reality shatters to the point that, not only do these characters of the swans seem real to her, but one of them completely takes over until she truly believes herself to be the white swan, eventually corrupted into the black swan.
That's probably a very poor explanation, but there you go. :-P
Edit: I started this video several weeks ago when I thought no one else had put up a combination of these two. But MsDevin92 beat me to it! Lol. I highly recommend watching MsDevin92's version as well, as it more strictly follows the original trailer. :-)

This is really really good! You did an amazing job syncing up the audio in the trailer with clips from princess tutu and in such an artistic way! Nice!

This was great! The high contrast mirrored the real trailer and having Ahiru and Rue as Nina and Lily works perfectly! Each of them represents the two sides of the Swan, the light and the darkness! Well done! Your description of the trailer would make a great fanfic now that I think about it...

@dragongirl007: Haha! Woot! Thanks! I actually considered penning a fanfic based on this idea when I was first making it. I might actually try STARTING it sometime in life, lol. Who knows? XD
