Thank you so much for your videos! You are very talented. Could you please tell me the lengths of the bamboo sticks, including what type of bamboo to use? I tried using a two inch wide bamboo pole I bought at Michael's arts and craft store, but I could not get the bamboo to split straight down. It kept splitting off. Thanks for your help...I've searched all over for Afghan kite making videos and yours was pretty much the only good ones I could find.

if u watch ((making Afghan kite part 1 )) you can see my dad how he cut the bamboo and yes i am using the 2" bamboo to...........for have to make your bamboo straight you can watch (( how to make afghani kite part 3 )) than again you can see how my dad make his bamboo straight with candle .... thanks for watching my video :-)

@ali23697 Awesome! I've watched all of your videos on Afghan kite making. They were so helpful in my attempt to make a kite. Unfortunately, i'm going to have to work on cutting bamboo more, as I find this part to be the most difficult. A gentleman I met was kind enough to give me an Afghan kite he had made and I noticed there was string attached to the ends of the bamboo. Do you suggest doing this and what is the purpose of it? I appreciate your videos!

yes the string help the kite to not tier the paper all around the kite .
