This is my new Octopus. I believe it is O. Filosus, the Caribbean Two-Spot Octopus. She lives in a 75 gallon tank with a large red Bahama Starfish and fist sized Pin Cushion Urchin.

  • hii! im so happy to see your pet octopus. how did you decide on a species? i am a student at harvard and designing an experiment to test octopus intelligence. would a 55 gallon tank be big enough? any info you can provide is very helpful, ive had lots of freshwater tanks, but this will be my first salt water

  • Very nice, check out my filosus! (They're actually called hummelincki now scientfically, but most people refer to it by the older and more popular filosus)

  • Nope, no need to. Octopus Filosus only grows 30cm arm length, 7cm mantle length. A 75 gallon tank is more than sufficient.

  • how big is the octopus?
