@degree7 Hear hear. Whether you like it or not it shows he can turn his talents to other styles too. You wouldn't have got away with writing psychedelic rock into the late 70s. Personally I love this song, and most of his songs. There are some I don't like....eg. Tears in heaven but I put it down to him having such a large repetoire that there was always bound to be something I didn't like!

I think Clapton was just taking influence from his good friend JJ Cale. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Besides, name one "dinosaur" 60s artist that was doing anything better by 1978.

marcy levy! i used to think she sounded like dolly parton and on The Core I thought maybe Stevie Nicks but her voice was too clean and crisp.
