I'm wondering what he uses to play the melody: he must have three hands or a very sharpened nose.

Jaw-dropping. I am looking at the Busoni, and it's certainly not that version. Does anyone know?
-
I am sure Mr Bach would have had a laugh at this and probably played it faster, just because he could.

@sam0xin Tis hardly a miracle.

Each note in his rendition is clearly audible

Phenomenal. Indeed better than Horowitz. As good as Busoni.

Phenomenal indeed, but it does not make sense to compare Sokolov to Horowitz or Busoni. This is not the Bach-Busoni transcription, and for that matter it's not transcription at all, since Sokolov plays here the original Bach Chorale-Prelude. Enjoy for what it is!

@thetunr Excuse me, but that's really nonsense. Of course this is the Busoni transcription.

Of course you're excused, for being deaf.

The original is for organ, and the organist plays the bass (which contains the main meolody) with his feet. Thus there is no such thing as "playing the original" prelude on the piano. This is either the Busoni transcription, or another transcription that sounds a lot like Busoni's (possibly by Sokolov himself).

You are either deaf or cannot read music. Probably both. Again, Sokolov plays this C-P as is. No need of "transcription" here to play what Bach wrote.
