This is part of the 2011-12 School Educational Outreach program sponsored by The Rochester Broadway Theater League (RBTL) in Rochester, New York.
Classroom teachers will attend a cartooning and caricature workshop led by internationally noted cartoonist and caricaturist David Boyer (aka: "Bippy" as know by other caricaturists). These videos will prepare teachers to show Bippy's caricature techniques to their students. Each student will draw a caricature of themselves, change it slightly to "SHREK-ize" it, and add, "I Am Who I Am," with their name on the drawing to accept themselves. And treat each other with affirmation and respect. And deter bullying in any school.
In Part 2, Dave "Bippy" Boyer will also highlight using Apple's iPad2 to photograph a drawing and color it using, "ArtStudio" app and an iFaraday stylus. But most any program that offers coloring can be used. Then the art can be used on Facebook, e-mail, a BLOG or part of an art exhibition! A summary of the steps are featured at the end.
And some surprise scarecrows will be seen from Brown's Berry Patch west of Albion, New York.
Many thanks to Cindy Boyer of The Landmark Society of Western NY for operating the video camera, letting me use their educational barn and always her sage advice from working with hundreds of classroom teachers.
These videos are dedicated to the memory of Apple's Steve Jobs (1955-2011), for his caring and vision to make a company and products that have a "soul."
