  • @DMLDisciple something about this post does not add up.

  • @DMLDisciple years ago, in bible schools in tulsa town, circa 1982, someone made a snap judgement and said to me :"you need the fear of the lord",well, really? i dont know where that person is, but i am still here. its easy just to say what someone needs. point your finger back at yourself. who are you to tell someone what they need? and i dont wear crosses of any kind. there is reality. god knows it is here. the bible teaches the body is "dead" because of sin. let god do the work. not you

  • I believe that if we are like Jesus and we endure persecution, etc, then the opposite is also true that Jesus experienced. I just believe that Joel Olsteen mis-represents prosperity, because there is prosperity in the Bible. If we are like Jesus and we endure all that He endured then we also endure the blessings that He endured. We endure the darkness of this world and the light of heaven.

  • I would like to make aware one point. I dont disagree with Mark Driscoll but i do dare to say this. If we are more like Jesus we can walk in divine health. It is possible, I havent gotten sick for over three years now. I dont have the money to eat right and I dont have insurance whatsoever, no the money to go to doctors either and make rent, etc.

  • @beto88keys: You arent listening to what I am trying to say. I am not against preaching the cross. America in general needs lots of fear of the Lord instead of luke warm apathy. Alot of Christians need to understand that their righteousness does not give them a right to go on sinning. What I am against is making the cross an idol, something that is bigger than Jesus. Just like heaven can be made an idol, aka: its all about going to heaven rather then intimacy with Jesus.

  • Have you ever rad the bible???? Paul says he was hungry ,ship wrecked, beaten ect. AND HE WROTE THE BIBLE (inspired by God of course). Do you really think that a dude who wrote the bible and was dealing with these things believed joels stupid message? im pretty sure we follow a guy who was beaten and crucified!!! HELLO!!! Jesus himself said that people will hate us because of our faith in him.....try reading the bible before you spout out ridicoulous rants.

  • @vietmanch92 - Take me for exemple: my grandma died from cancer, one of my good friens hanged himself, my cousin 2 years later also hanged himself and I never made more than enough money to pay my bills. Do you know what my prosperity was through these hard years? Having the joy of my life and my Saviour to comfort me ant to be real close to me.

That's the beauty of the Gospel.

  • @vietmanch92 - Actually I heard him say that God didn't create us to be average. That we need to be free from all the bad things in life holding us back.

I kinda feel what Joel is saying, but the way he's saying it... nah, I don't know, he's kinda telling me that I'm an invincible champion. But you know what? Some days I'm gonna loose real bad, health is gonna be horrible... etc

  • God wants us to reign in every area of our life, not just one or two areas....

  • (con;t) came God's goodness (story of the fish in the boat) when Jesus commanded fish to come to the boat, then came Peter's repentance of acknowledging Christ as Lord and Son of God. All in all, we should bring our lost brothers and sisters back and not pushing them away from God...By His grace and Jesus' obedience alone we are saved. Jesus suffered so we can have peace, joy, freedom, love, everything that we don;t deserve to have, he exchanged it all for us. Please remember that.
