the gt was made after the 1964 ford gt 40, reason to why the ford gt doesn't have the gt 40 on it is because its 43 inches from ground to roof, not 40 inches.

@BYCURE213 no. the lightning and the gt500 are pretty much si,ilar. but the GT would have to be machined and modified to accept a conventional wet sump.the new gt500 took the same engine design as the GT but engineers reworked it to use a regular oil pan/non squirters wet sump.

@thehowl666 serious? cuz i read that its the lightning gt, and gt500 have the same blick with minor changes like the cylendar walls and reinforcements

@BYCURE213 no. GT has a dry sump and no provisions for a wet sump, plus the cylinder walls are plasma coated. gt500 has a wet sump.
